**Quality Assurance Administrative Assistant**

National Skills Academy for Rail (NSAR) is a membership organisation within the rail sector focused on bringing together government, employers, training providers, colleges and universities to deliver industry needs. We work collaboratively across the transport industry and key stakeholders to provide awareness, advice, and support for members to enable them to help build effective skills strategies.

NSAR is responsible for implementing Network Rail’s Rail Training Assurance Scheme

(RTAS) and programme of training and competences crucial to the safety of those working on our rail network. The purpose of the RTAS framework is to ensure that a consistent high standard of training and assessment for specific safety critical railway skills is maintained across all organisations and individuals providing training and assessment services.

This role is primarily concerned with enabling and supporting the delivery aspects of the continuous improvement of the RTAS assured providers.

**Primary Function**

Reporting to the Head of Quality Assurance (RTAS). Assisting both the department in undertaking administration activities for training and assessment delivery in line with Network Rail standards, Quality Assurance Frameworks and RTAS Rules.

Where breaches of standards and rules are identified, assist in compiling documentation for NSAR on behalf of Network Rail to support investigations. Assist in the day to day support of QA administration.

**Key responsibilities**
- Assist the Head of Quality Assurance (RTAS) in day-to-day administrative activities that support the continuous development of Quality Assurance services in NSAR;
- Maintaining QA Team’s standardised documentation, processes and procedures;
- Use of relevant MS Office and quality assurance tools;
- Assist in and co-ordinate the preparation of data and reports;
- Assist with aspects of confidential and sensitive investigation documentation for NSAR on behalf of Network Rail;
- Collaborate with the wider NSAR team with business and information needs;
- Undertake ad hoc administrative duties, reports and data analysis for the wider NSAR team as required;
- Contribute to the development and implementation of industry best practice;
- Compliance with Company policies and procedures;
- Continuously develop own technical knowledge.
**Essential attributes**:

- Recognised Internal/External Auditing Qualifications (Desirable);
- Ability to co-ordinate and analyse data;
- High level of attention to detail & process;
- High level capability in the use of Microsoft Office Suite;
- Ability to use and understand ‘Sentinel’ system data (Desirable);
- Ability to deal effectively and efficiently with internal and external stakeholders;
- Experience of using Windows-based software packages including Word, Excel and Outlook;
- Ability to deal with confidential information sensitively and appropriately.

**Hours - 40 hours per week**

**Location - London based (Hybrid working 3 days per week in the office)**
