- Daily preparation and serving of meals and snacks following rotational menus and general day to day maintenance of both Kitchen and serving areas and equipment.

Plan/review meals by analysing rotational menus; preparing shopping ingredients and catering for various dietary requirements to ensure no children are excluded.

Prepare ingredients by following lunch/snack menus.

Complete meal preparation; check core/holding/serving temperatures and taste prior to serving.

Ensure meals/snacks are served in appropriate dishes relevant to the age group of the children.

Control costs by following menus and stock control of all ingredients, fresh & frozen.

Maintains a sanitary kitchen by adhering to the standards set by environmental health. This includes; storage and refrigeration requirements; cleaning of equipment; completion of relevant documentation.

Ensures all equipment meets regulatory requirements. This includes; fridge; freezer; temperature probe; dishwasher and advising maintenance of any repairs.

Willingness to attend training and staff meetings to maintain current practice for job role.

At times required to help with laundry and other cleaning duties around kitchen

Skills/Qualifications:
Ideally someone who has experience of working in a nursery or a care home.

Applicant should have a minimum REHIS Food Hygiene and Cooksafe certificates.

Ability to plan appropriate menu’s for children with allergies and specific dietary requirements.

Good Team Player.

Successful Applicant will be required to complete PVG check. Costs will be met by the employer.

Hours 08:30 - 4.00pm shifts Monday to Friday
