**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Food Preparation**: Assist in the basic preparation of ingredients, including washing, peeling, and chopping fruit & vegetables, as well as preparing afternoon snacks.
- **Cleaning and Sanitizing**: Ensure that all kitchen areas, utensils, and equipment are kept clean and sanitized according to health and safety regulations.
- **Dishwashing**: Operate the dishwasher and hand wash pots, pans, and other kitchen utensils as needed. Ensure all items are properly stored after cleaning.
- **Inventory Management**: Assist with receiving and storing deliveries, ensuring that all items are properly labelled and stored in their correct locations. Monitor stock levels and report shortages to the Nursery Manager.
- **Waste Management**: Dispose of waste in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring that recycling and food waste procedures are followed.
- **Health and Safety Compliance**: Follow all health and safety guidelines, including proper food handling procedures and the wearing of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- **Record Management**: Keep abreast of all Health & Safety, and Cook Safe guidelines, and ensure relevant procedures are followed and recorded on a daily basis.

**Qualifications**:

- **Experience**: Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment is preferred but not required. Training will be provided.
- **Skills**: Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and food safety standards. Strong organizational skills and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- **Work Ethic**: Must be punctual, reliable, and able to work as part of a team.

**Work Schedule**:
Monday to Friday - 10:30am - 12:30pm daily
In-person work at Cherry Blossom Nursery School
10 hours per week
