Heathrow’s Community Investment Team exists to build positive and meaningful relationships with local communities to deliver positive outcomes for Heathrow’s neighbouring areas.
As a Community Investment Co-ordinator you will support and deliver the Communities and Sustainability Team’s community investment activities for Heathrow Airport as part of our Giving Back Programme.
This is an exciting opportunity to work collaboratively across various teams at Heathrow and in the local community with local groups, charities, councils and organisations to support causes that will deliver a long-term social impact.
You will have a good level of community understanding, know what good engagement looks like, and know how to deliver this. Excellent team working and interpersonal skills is essential in this role - collaborating comfortably with stakeholders, taking ownership of local projects, and providing support in other areas of the Communities and Sustainability Team’s work plan if needed.
- Supporting the successful delivery of Heathrow’s Local Schools Partnership programme - building relationships with local schools and our delivery partner to plan volunteering activities for Heathrow colleagues to participate in.
- Working with stakeholders, partners, and local community representatives to help identify, develop and deliver local community investment projects and colleague volunteer days, alongside planning, tracking and monitoring our Heathrow Community Rangers activities.
- Supporting Heathrow’s partnership with the Heathrow Community Trust with events planning and local engagement.
- Helping to manage and administer small donations through our Heathrow Community ‘Take Off’ Fund to be utilised for the benefit of the most local communities closest to Heathrow Airport.
- Working with internal teams and external partners to help local communities access the airports green spaces and promote nature conservation work.
- Working closely with the internal & external comms teams to raise awareness internally and externally, compiling good news stories on Heathrow’s community investment for colleague channels and local media and supporting promotion of Heathrow’s community investment work on social media by working with the social media team.
- Providing administrative support
- capturing and recording stakeholder feedback and sharing this with the wider team to resolve issues and improve our community investment activities and acting as Secretary to the Giving Back Steering Group and Communities and Charities Committee.
- Experience of working in a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) / Community Investment role.
- Data capture and analysis, with exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong organisational skills and a completer/finisher mindset.
- An out-going personality, with strong inter-personal, negotiating and influencing skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ideally, you’ll also have:
- An understanding of the community engagement landscape and Heathrow’s local community.
