The Finance team at North Bristol NHS Trust is looking for a dedicated and innovative self-starter to work closely with the Divisional Finance Business Partner and Divisional Leadership Teams on delivery of Financial Management specific projects. You will work in the Financial Management team and be responsible for the scoping, implementation and review of a range of finance specific projects, helping to improve the processes and controls within financial management and the wider finance team.

The Financial Management Project Resource role is working within central finance. This role provides an excellent opportunity to have a real, tangible, and positive impact on operational activities and subsequently patient care.

In this role, you will report into the Head of Management Accounts.

**As a Project Resource role, you will**:

- Be responsible for leading on Trustwide financial management projects to help improve efficiency and effectiveness of finance
- Lead on the development of business cases to progress projects
- Undertake training to ensure that projects are sufficiently embedded within teams
- Develop robust relationships with both finance and operational staff

**The successful applicant will have**:

- Experience of working in an innovative finance function
- Confidence in understanding and analysing large data sets
- Good understanding of Financial Management
- Excellent stakeholder management skills
- The ability to communicate clearly and effectively, tailored appropriately to the audience
- Experience of managing projects from start to finish and ensuring that results are implemented

You should be a qualified CCAB accountant (or finalist) with a good track record of delivering results within a large complex environment. Previous NHS experience is required.

The post is contractually based at Christopher Hancock Building, Southmead, and at present we have a hybrid working model of remote working and office based when necessary. The requirement of office-based working can vary depending on current pressures and departmental needs. There is an expectation that the successful individual will spend a regular period of time in the office.

The role will sit within the Trusts Financial Management team managed by the Head of Management Accounts. The role will have a dotted line to the Assistant Director of Finance for Financial Management and will report regularly on the progress of projects.

The role will be responsible for leading on Trustwide financial management projects to help improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the financial management function. Support can be provided by the Finance Manager for Projects and Transformation.

To provide expert accounting, NHS and business knowledge, analytical support and clear presentation of financial and business information to clinical and non-clinical colleagues.

To develop robust relationships with Trust senior management staff and Finance staff to enable the implementation and embedding of Finance projects

To challenge Finance and Divisional staff constructively and positively when scoping and implementing projects.

To actively contribute to the Trust’s financial management training programme for non-finance staff including the design of training material and facilitation and presentation at training events.

The postholder must have a recognised CCAB or equivalent qualification and be fully committed to Continuous Professional Development.

The postholder is expected to spend regular periods on the Southmead site. This will enable the development of relationships with Finance and Operational staff.
