Positive Paths Kids is a community interest company which specialises in working with children and young people with additional support needs.

We primarily work 1:1 and in small groups, supporting our young people to access the community, build confidence, independance and further their communication and social skills. We support those aged 5 to 25 with a range of additional needs including autism, learning disabilities and mental health needs.

We currently support around 100 children and young people across Edinburgh and our team is made up of around 40 staff. We have a base in Leith but most of our support is based out in the community throughout Edinburgh.

**_Job Description _**

We are currently recruiting for full time, part time and casual posts across the city of Edinburgh. The posts are flexible and varied and would suit a wide range of people. For the casual/part time posts the role will involve after school/evening work, friday afternoons and/or Saturdays. These shifts are primarily for the children in our service to allow the parents respite knowing that their child is safe and well cared for. We undertake a range of activities with the children including, but not limited to, play parks, swimming and visits to the museum and zoo.

The full time posts will involve the above whilst also working with young people who are either not currently in education, and our focus is to build their confidence and skills to return, or those who attend further education such as college. There will be opportunities to work with other agencies such as CAMHS, social work and schools as well as physiotherapists, occupational therapists and behaviour support teams, in order to provide the highest level of person centred care possible.

In order to be successful in this role, we are looking for individuals who are motivated, reliable and enthusiastic, and who enjoy working with children and young people.

Experience working with children or with individuals with additional support needs is preferred however full training will be given when starting the role.

A full drivers license and access to your own car is preferred but not essential. A PVG check will be carried out as part of your recruitment and you will be asked to register with the SSSC.
- **Positions Available **:_
- 2 full time posts available 35 hours.
- Starting salary for 35 hours per week up to £19,111 ( £10.50 per hour ) Increasing to £11 after passing first 6 months of your probationary period - £ 20, 020.00 per year.
- _Drivers preferable however not essential. _

COVID-19 considerations:
All staff are trained in using lateral flow tests and are provided with testing kits to use at home twice per week. PPE is provided in the form of masks to wear indoors and staff currently work within smaller teams.
