**Optical Mechanical Engineer - Graduate | Oxfordshire | Full Time 09:00 - 16:00 | £28,000 - £35,000 per year depending on skills and experience**

Our client is a UK company committed to supplying the best video surveillance solutions available.

To succeed in this role, you will have a strong passion to learn and understand all aspects of product design relevant to the company’s optomechanical and optoelectronics products and equipment.In addition, you will have a knowledge of optics, and mechanicsand have the ability to understand the integration of all these aspects into a system or product which meets the required specifications.

You will be primarily responsible for doing mechanical and optical design and development, proving and supporting the design during the lifecycle, and assisting on a wide range of projects for a varied client base.

This role is initially office based, with a flexible starting time with core hours.

**Are you the right person for the job?**

The following criteria are essential for this role
- You should have a postgraduate (Masters) degree in Optical Engineering, Physics similar technology-related field
- Optical systems design using OpticStudio(ZEMAX)
- Mechanical design using SolidWorks 3D CAD
- Being able to test products
- Being proactive and have good organizational skills
- Being able to communicate effectively in a written and verbal format
- Be able to work with team members
- Being able to meet targets

**What will your role as a Graduate Opto-Mechanical Engineer look like?**

Development (70%)
- Develop and test optical and optomechanical systems suitable for manufacturing
- Learn new materials and technologies
- Attend team meetings
- Resolve user’s/clients’ issues
- Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction

Research (10%)
- Identifying new technologies which could be exploited by the company, either in product design or improved production methods and processes
- Recognising existing technologies in other markets which could applied to the company’s markets

Others (20%)
- Help with production when needed
- Help with daily office tasks

The post is full-time and based at Milton Park, Abingdon, but may require occasional travel or meetings out of the office as required by the business.Whilst performing duties you will be expected to maintain a flexible approach responding to changing businesspriorities and at all times act in the best interests of the company complying with policies, legal obligations and health and safety at work requirements.
