Newport is a leading council with a great deal to offer. Our housing and communities services have delivered excellent outcomes for our residents and we are looking for someone to join our passionate team delivering temporary accommodation for homeless clients and settled homes.

The Property Acquisition Officer role has been created to build effective relationships with landlords and letting agents, to source accommodation in the Private Rented Sector, to move clients out of temporary accommodation or avoid the use of temporary accommodation entirely. This post is part of a freshly restructured team designed to respond to homelessness pressures and ensure we are fit for the future and ready to meet our challenges and vision as a council.

It is truly an exciting time to be part of the team leading on the acquisition, development, management and performance of accommodation assets to deliver safe and effective temporary, transitional and settled accommodation to respond to homelessness in Newport.

If you have experience of working in the residential property market, have strong negotiation and networking skills, and a passion for helping people, this post is an excellent opportunity for you to make your mark in Newport. We also operate property leasing schemes and there will be opportunities to assist in this area of work.
