Membership Officer
**Reporting to**
Head of Fundraising
**The Charity**
Painshill is a beautiful award-winning 18th century landscape garden which was created between 1738 and 1773 by the Hon Charles Hamilton. The 160 acre garden receives circa 200,000 visitors a year and operates commercial functions including retail, catering, filming and events to support our visitor offer.
**The Role**
The Membership Officer will be expected to promote Painshill's membership offer in order to drive growth. Keeping members informed and feeling involved in Painshill’s future will be an integral part of this role.
The applicant must be confident and self-motivated with the ability to work on their own or as part of a team.
**Working Location**
Painshill Park Trust Ltd, Cobham, Surrey KT11 1JE.
- Due to Painshill’s location, own transport is strongly recommended_
**Working Hours**
The role involves working five days out of seven with weekend work as required to support the Duty Management Team and Painshill Events Team.
**Key responsibilities**
- Assist the Head of Fundraising in the strategic planning and delivery of Painshill Membership retention and recruitment
- Assist the Head of Fundraising is developing appropriate plans and communications that are based on audience type and motivation.
- Maintain the membership database ensuring details are recorded, up to date with current GDPR law.
- Maintain a record of members’ motivation and reason for cancellation to give solid base of knowledge for future promotion and stewardship. Share this information with the Visitor Experience & Volunteer Manager regularly and appropriately
- Making sure new and renewed memberships are processed correctly and considerately.
- Ensure membership renewals are processed and communication is consistent and engaging.
- Ensure direct debit processes are completed appropriately - including timely reminders.
- Support and develop on-site membership sales and ensure the wider team is informed and aware of process and messaging.
- As part of the duty management team, support Painshill’s day to day activities and maintain a high standard of visitor experience.
- Assist the Head of Fundraising to develop and deliver membership promotion with the support of the marketing team.
- Develop and deliver gift membership products and promotions with the support of the marketing team.
- Develop and deliver corporate membership products and promotions with the support of the marketing team.
- Work alongside the Events and Filming Manager to create a member related events programme
- Being the face and voice of Painshill membership, within brand guidelines.
- Develop a programme of on-site membership promotion, focusing on key busy dates
- Inform and motivate all staff and volunteers to ensure membership is promoted, offered and sold appropriately. Lead in celebration of successes and milestones in membership figures with all involved.

- Strong ability to multi task and prioritise
**Qualifications and Experience (preferred not essential)**
- Customer service experience
- Experience of data input
- Experience of working in a membership environment
- Experience of managing a complex database

Pay: £26,000.00-£27,000.00 per year
