About the Armed Forces Pathway**- Mott MacDonald’s Armed Forces Pathway represents our commitment to recruiting, transitioning, developing, and supporting the armed forces community within our organisation. The Pathway is designed to support military personnel transitioning into civilian careers. It provides support and resources to help individuals develop relevant skills, and successfully integrate into roles outside of the military. Our programme offers training, mentorship, and network opportunities, tailored to the unique experiences and skills of military personnel.
Duration: 12 months
Location: Newcastle / Glasgow/ Altrincham/ York/ Brighton/ Croydon
Programme: Participants will learn about project coordination within our Energy division. You will be supported to work on a variety of projects and empowered to develop your skills within a consultancy environment.
Support: You’ll be paired with a supportive buddy from our Mott MacDonald Forces community.

About the business unit**- The Energy unit delivers services to clients globally across several sectors including hydropower, nuclear, waste, renewable generation and transmission & distribution networks. Together we provide integrated engineering and project management services across the project lifecycle - from concept and design to construction and operations, to decommissioning or repowering and life extension. Together with our clients, we’re helping to deliver the energy transition globally.

Overview of the role**- The civil team in the energy unit is looking for a survey coordinator to coordinate and manage survey activities for energy projects, ensuring accurate and timely data collection. Key duties and responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Coordinate and manage survey activities for energy projects, ensuring accurate and timely data collection
- Collaborate with project teams to integrate survey data into project designs and plans
- Ensure survey output complies with industry standards and project requirements
- Provide technical support and guidance to survey teams
- Monitor and report on survey progress and any issues that arise
- Adapt to new processes and technologies as needed to improve project outcomes
- Conduct Risk Assessments and complete method statements and review and check risk management documents and method statements provided by the survey contractor.

**Risk Assessment and Method Statement Review**: Familiarity with reviewing and enforcing safety protocols, risk assessments, and standard operating procedures in high-risk environments.
- **Attention to Detail and Organisation**: Proven ability to manage logistics, maintain accurate records, and ensure operational precision under pressure.
- **Technical Proficiency**: Comfortable using digital tools and systems for data collection, analysis, and reporting—skills that can be transferred to survey software and data analysis platforms.
- **Clear Communication**: Strong interpersonal and communication skills developed through working with diverse teams, often across ranks and disciplines.
- **Teamwork and Independence**: Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, often in challenging or unfamiliar environments.
