The South East Reserve Forces’ and Cadets’ Association will have a vacancy in October for a Cadet Executive Officer with Sussex Army Cadet Force.

The CEO will be based in the Headquarters in Brighton within the grounds of the Army Reserve Centre on Dyke Road. It is home to the Permanent Support Staff and the Cadet Force Adult Volunteer (CFAV) Head Quarters Command team. Working with the Army Cadet Force offers a fantastic opportunity to give back to your local community and make a difference in the lives of young people.

The successful applicant will be required to reside within daily commuting distance. Applicants will ideally have a service background and preferably held the rank of Major or equivalent.

**The appointment calls for**:

- A thorough working knowledge of the military system coupled with a wide administrative experience.
- Experience in the management of public and non-public funds.
- A proven track record in staff work to facilitate dealings with Formation HQs.
- Excellent communication skills to facilitate dealings with Cadet Force Adult Volunteers, cadets, their parents, other youth organisations and the local authority.
- Excellent managerial skills to facilitate line management of the county permanent staff.
- Computer literacy based on the Microsoft Office package.

As a condition of Employment, the successful applicant will be required to be Security Cleared and undergo an “Enhanced Check” through the Disclosure and Barring Service, prior to confirmation of appointment. They will be commissioned into the Army Cadet Force in the rank of Major, for which extra remuneration may be claimed under the Voluntary Allowance scheme.

The appointment commences with a probationary period of six months.
