What You’ll Do

As Business Support Officer, you will play a crucial role in facilitating the smooth operation of a team and/or project by providing administrative, logístical, and operational support.

As part of the Business Support Team, you will play a crucial role in providing financial and administrative services to managers and function leads to help effectively achieve our business objectives.
- Provide day-to-day administrative support on tasks such as arranging meetings, monitoring shared mailboxes, assisting visitors to the office, taking deliveries, placing orders etc.
- General finance duties - for example processing of invoices, review and reconciliation of company credit cards, assisting with documentation for timber sales and post-sale administration, monitoring financial controls, audit requests etc.
- Support and guidance to colleagues on our relevant systems, policies and processes.
- Serve as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, handling inquiries and requests promptly and professionally.
- Provide contract management support including preparation of documentation, monitoring, recording of financial transactions and health and safety compliance.
- The role may involve occasional travel within the district, potentially with overnight stays to attend meetings.
- Ad hoc projects, tasks and general office duties as reasonably requested by your line manager.

Where You’ll Work Central District

You will work at the Central District Office located in Sherwood Pines, Nottinghamshire. Central England Forest District Team manages 30,000ha of the Nations Forests within a triangle formed by Preston, Grimsby and Milton Keynes.

We manage a diverse range of forests from ancient oak-wood to new community forests, producing 150,000 tonnes of timber every year and providing homes for a wide range of wildlife. Over 8 million people live within 20 miles of our forests, giving rise to a diverse range of customers, neighbours and stakeholders. We manage seven visitor centres, attracting over 2.5 million visits per year, and 23,000 hectares of accessible woodlands.
