**DevOps Engineer**

My client, a nationally recognised financial services business, known for being one of the UK's 'great places to work' is looking for a passionate and experienced DevOps Engineer to join the team.

The DevOps Engineer will take a lead role in the automation and improvement of Hybrid Cloud Services. You will play a central role in designing, building and testing continuous integration and delivery pipelines for the deployment of cloud components.

This is a full time, permanent role paying a salary of £55,000 - £65,000 per year dependant on experience plus a market leading benefits package including; generous bonus, double matched pension, private medical insurance and 28 days holiday to name a few.

The role will be hybrid, with the expectation to be on-site at my client's West Midlands head office for 2 days a week ideally.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Lead the delivery of automated, efficient, reliable and secure releases through a DevOps Toolchain by embedding DevOps practices.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships and collaborate with internal teams, peers and external 3rd parties ensuring Cloud Infrastructure services remain aligned with the Microsoft Product Roadmap.
- Provide leadership and deep, hands-on development expertise and guidance to drive adoption of modern development practices to provide assurance through the DevOps lifecycle.
- Plan, design and implement the delivery of Cloud Service capabilities through the use of everything-as-code principles.
- Partner with Platform and Domain Architects and stakeholders to coordinate strategies and technology investment recommendations, escalating any issues when needed.
- Prepare and present design governance submissions relating to Hybrid Cloud components to other internal teams, peers and stakeholders to aid Agile development and deployment.
- Champion new technical tools, processes and development methods to drive continuous improvement in quality and efficiency standards throughout the software development lifecycle.

**Key Skills and Experience required**:

- Strong experience of operating in a DevOps / Agile environment
- Experience of scripting and templating for IaC deployments such as ARM (Azure Resource Manager), YAML or PowerShell
- Experience in standard Service Management practices
- Knowledge & understanding of Cloud principles e.g. Azure Cloud / AWS
- Effective leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
- Any formal qualification in Microsoft Azure technology, DevOps or Agile / Scrum would be great but is not essential.
