The Medical Secretary / Scheduler Receives direction from providers, administrators, managers, supervisors and leads. Works cooperatively with all levels of healthcare professionals throughout the Mayo Clinic enterprise, outside vendors, volunteers, patients, and visitors. Maintains an effective working relationship with a variety of personnel within and outside Mayo Clinic. Interacts professionally with referring providers, other clinical associates, patients, their families, and other visitors, treating them with dignity and respect. Facilitates patient visits by responding to patient needs and requests of the healthcare team both internally and externally coordinating care as necessary.

**Qualifications**
- General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) and two years customer service experience in an environment requiring multi-tasking, such as a call center, administrative/physician's office, appointment scheduler or retail/ service industry.

**Additional qualifications**
- Completion of Medical Terminology course preferred.
- Role requires independent decision making and sound judgment capabilities, with a strong attention to detail and follow through.
- A demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment, manage difficult and emotional situations, remains calm under stress, display empathy and maintain positive communication is also required.
- Must have strong keyboarding and computer skills.
- Demonstrates basic understanding of insurance terminology.
- Must have the right to work in the United Kingdom.
- Must be fluent in English.

**Exemption status**
Non-exempt

**Compensation Detail**
Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. Minimum salary is. £30,000 annually.

40 hours per week.

Hours for this position are Monday - Friday, daytime hours - 40 hours per week.
