St George's, United Kingdom The Special Education Network Full time

We are an education provider committed to providing high quality teaching and learning for all our learners. Many of these learners experience varying degrees of SEND, SEMH and SPLD including LAC and those with EHCP's. We aim to narrow the achievement gap by creating bespoke, curriculum-based tuition programmes, tailored to support their needs.

We are looking for people who are passionate about improving outcomes for disadvantaged learners, as well as continually improving the quality of teaching and learning to the benefit of each individual. This is a dynamic role for an exceptional person who has a minimum of 5 years education experience (SEN would be an advantage). This role requires someone that is skilled in partnership working and communicating with stakeholders at all levels, from parent/carers to senior staff within local authorities and schools. The ideal Planning Consultant is prepared to respond flexibly and quickly to the needs of our clients, travelling to family homes and assessing the learner's needs.

**Job Specification**:

- Organise, prepare, and conduct face to face set-up meetings with family and learners, liaising with other stakeholders as needed including client, school and tutor.
- Design 'bespoke' learning programmes centred on intensive one-to-one tuition, based on client's requirements and student needs.
- Write learning programme summaries tailored to the needs and interests of the learner, as defined through the set-up meeting
- Brief and support tutors
- Support Alternative Provision Programme Managers and tutors with the development and delivery of innovative and unique education programmes.

**Skills and Experience required**:

- Leadership background at senior level.
- Experience in delivering training and/or professional development courses would be an advantage.
- Current knowledge of factors impacting on education & the National Curriculum across KS1- KS4 and exam preparation.
- Experience in supporting, teaching, and assessing young people with SEND and EHCP's.
- Proven track record of supporting learners who are underachieving or exhibiting challenging behaviours.
- Extensive experience of working with disadvantaged groups and knowledge of complexities & factors affecting young people/parent carers.
- Outstanding verbal and written communications skills and ability to interpret data.
- Tactful & diplomatic approach to manage partnerships and different stakeholders.
- Sound IT skills including the use of MS Office.
- Flexible and adaptable approach to frequently changing schedules based on priorities.
- Excellent planning and time management skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and remotely but also as part of a team.
- Ability to adapt communication style appropriately to encourage learner/parent/carer participation.
- Experience of undertaking risk assessments would be an advantage.
- Sound knowledge of safeguarding & child protection.

This is a flexible hours role that will change depending upon the time of year and demand from our clients - this role will be available during term time only. This is a hybrid role which will initially be highly peripatetic. You will be comfortable in visiting parent/carers & learners at home across the country, so you will need to be comfortable with travelling every week. The rest of the time will be spent working from home and/or at our Farnborough office.
