We have an exciting new opportunity for a Trainee Planner to join our team based in Manchester.

In this role you will assist in planning the allocated projects up to the standard required from contract conditions, and both internal and client requirements. Plans will be implemented with he best-practice approach utilising critical path analysis, resource planning, cost management and progress/productivity monitoring and control, to produce workable realistic and efficient plans.

This is a permanent staff position with NG Bailey.

**Responsibilities**:
**Key deliverables in this role are**:

- Demonstrate appropriate health and safety leadership to ensure that the safety first and foremost message is visible and alive throughout all activities relating to the projects on which they are working.
- Assist with planning related activities, which are carried out in compliance with contractual obligations, internal processes and external legislation governing business operations.
- Participate and help lead integrated planning meetings, engaging with relevant project stakeholders to develop and agree the project plan.
- Participate within bid activities as requested by the senior management; to work in conjunction with the business development department, and in line with focus win processes.
- In conjunction with the planning manager/senior planner/planner, work closely with relevant project personnel and our external customer in order to produce/agree a ‘contract baseline’ programme for each allocated project, that aligns with the agreed formal contract, price and work scope, and reduces risk for NG Bailey.
- With guidance, maintain and update contract baseline in line with agreed contract change. Ensure that change impacts are effectively communicated to all stakeholders.
- Assist with effective progress and productivity reporting against project plan. Circulate clear reports to all stakeholders in a concise and timely manner.
- In conjunction with the planning manager/senior planner/planner, ensure that planning outputs/reports are produced in a timely manner for all contract reviews.
- Support operational teams in order to ascertain whether project targets are being achieved, and to jointly establish and agree any corrective measures to be taken where necessary.
- In conjunction with the planning manager/senior planner/planner, perform time/risk analysis against programmes at regular intervals with the project manager throughout the whole project lifecycle.

**Requirements**:
**To be successful in this role you will have**:

- Experience using primavera/asta powerproject in a planning role (desirable)
- Construction site experience
- Completed craft apprenticeship or equivalent/higher relevant qualification
