**The role**

**This is a fantastic new opportunity for a Compliance Monitoring Officer/Analyst to join a small yet highly experienced and growing team. Reporting into the Compliance Monitoring Manager the roles focus will be carrying out compliance monitoring activity, testing key business processes and controls to determine whether they comply with applicable regulations, legislation, and scheme rules as per the annual compliance monitoring plan.**

**The role will offer hybrid working, based in prestigious offices within the Royal Liver Building in Liverpool.**

**Key responsibilities**

***
- **Develop and maintain an understanding of key regulatory requirements applicable to the Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution schemes. (The Pensions Regulator, Anti-Money Laundering, and any other applicable legislation)**:

- **Support the Compliance Monitoring Manager in determining what reviews will be included in the Compliance Annual Plan, using a risk-based approach.**:

- **Responsible for carrying out monitoring reviews to determine whether key business processes and controls are designed and operating effectively to ensure compliance with key regulations legislation and scheme rules.**:

- **Support in the design, implementation, and maintenance of training content for staff to ensure it remains appropriate, including those with different learning preferences.**:

- **Carry out regular horizon scanning to establish what key changes or updates are being made by our key regulators, so these can be fed through to the relevant business function/s.**:

- **Working closely with the investment management compliance team across various group compliance activities and initiatives.**:

- **Build and maintain strong relationships with colleagues within the Pensions Legal team who will be key in validating regulation, legislation, and scheme rules that underpin monitoring reviews.**:

- **Support in the production of the Compliance MI pack and any associated root cause analysis and/or key trends across compliance with key policies and processes.**:

- **Ensure that any regulatory filings are accurate and are reported within any stipulated regulatory reporting periods.**

**Your experience**

***
- **Experience gained in a compliance monitoring role**:

- **Ideally from a financial services sector, regulated environment, or pensions, but not essential**:

- **Can demonstrate strong influencing skills and communication to develop connections across business units**:

- **Understand business and how to develop a deep understanding of its needs, stakeholders, and processes to ensure robust compliance**:

- **Strong analytical skills, ability to quickly identify key issues using logical analysis**:

- **Attention to detail**:

- **Relevant qualifications (ICA) or a willingness to study a relevant professional qualification**:

- **Proficient using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, able to adapt to different IT systems**
