We are currently working in partnership with a fantastic SEN school located in Richmond. The school is looking for a Mental Health Teaching Assistant to join their friendly and supportive team. The school provides holistic and therapeutic education to pupils with Severe Learning Difficulties and additional needs such as Autism/ASC/SLD.

**Highlights**:

- Mental Health Support Worker
- Monday to Friday, 8:30 am - 4 pm

- Utilising creative arts into their curricula, such as music, arts, drama, and dance

**Mental Health Teaching Assistant**
- Graduates who studied either Psychology, Criminology, Education Studies or Creative Arts are welcome to apply
- Has experience working with children and young people with special needs and/or hard to reach
- Has personal interests in supporting children and young people with special needs
- A positive, proactive, and patient individual who has a can-do attitude and is willing to learn
- A team player and has great communication skills
- Being able to build good working relationships with students and staff

**Mental Health Teaching Assistant**
- Supporting children with SLD and ASD
- Some pupils may have undiagnosed complex mental health needs such as depression, school phobia, and trauma-related anxieties
- Assisting the class teacher with planning, preparing and delivering learning activities as well as monitoring and assessing children’s achievement and progress
- Actively involved in a wide range of activities, promoting the physical, cognitive, cultural, social and emotional wellbeing of the pupils
- Actively interacting with children through play-based and sensory-related activities
