**Team Leader (supported living)**

**(40-hour contract, permanent, full time)**

Looking for an experienced Team leader with experience in Residential or supported living setting, working with service users with Learning disabilities, mental health problems, complex needs and challenging behaviour. Our client is a brilliant, fast-growing company with many services in the Southall area

**A Purpose of Job**
- Responsible for: Supervising Support workers, Support Assistants, domestic staff, agency staff and at times deputising for the Deputy Service Manager
- To work as part of the management team, using person centred approaches to provide a high-quality service for people with learning disabilities, which enables users to live with a maximum of choice and independence, participating in a wide range of community-based activities, designed to meet their individual need.
- To provide professional and operational management to the team/s to assist service users to lead fulfilling lives and develop and use their individual skills as far as they are able to in all aspects of daily living in line with the Personalisation Agenda and other relevant regulations i.e. Mental Capacity Act, DOLS etc.
- To make professional decisions in the interest of the service users, both on a day-to-day basis and in emergencies, e.g., dealing with urgent medical issues, other emergencies, or unanticipated difficulties etc.
- To maximise community inclusion and participation through enabling the involvement of service users in ordinary mainstream activities and services, ensuring that risk is managed appropriately
- The post holder will be required to work shifts including weekends, bank holidays, sleeping in and occasional waking nights on a rota shift system as directed.
- To organise and manage the day to day running of the service, including leading shifts, allocation of duties and ensuring adequate hand over of shifts.
- To assist the Deputy and Service Manager in the management and control of all aspects of the service.
- To assume responsibility for the service in the absence of the Service and/or Deputy Service Manager ensuring an effective delivery of service is maintained and deputise for Management at meetings as required.
- To supervise, guide, appraise and develop staff and monitor their performance with regard to attendance levels and disciplinary procedures.

**Special requirements**
- Min. of NVQ Level 2 or above qualification in Health and social care (ideally Level 3 or 4)
- Min. of 2 years of previous experience at Team leader or Senior support worker level in a supported living or residential setting
- Previous experience working with service users with Mental health, learning disabilities, autism

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: Up to £11.42 per hour

Schedule:

- 10 hour shift
- 12 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Night shift

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Southall: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
