**Product Quality Engineer | South Cumbria | 37 hours, Monday-Friday| Part-time considered | SALARY: £32,000- £38,000**

Forge, a market leader in custom LED lighting solutions, is looking for a practical Product Quality Engineer who can manage its robust and established Product Quality Control operation on a day-day basis and contribute proactively to Product Quality fromdesign through partner manufacture and beyond.

**Are you the right person for the job?**
- Experience in working with mechanical and electrical products
- Experience in electronic & optical metrology is an advantage though in-house training is available
- A degree or HND in a relevant Science or Engineering discipline preferred
- Experience of working in a manufacturing environment
- Experience of ISO 9001 Quality Management System preferred
- Knowledge, understanding and practical experience of statistical quality control techniques & methods
- IPC610 practitioner (preferred but not mandatory)
- Good communication skills, able to deal effectively with customers and suppliers
- A problem solver, who is self-motivated with a ‘can-do’ attitude and a good eye for detail
- Commitment to continuous improvement

**What will your role as a Product Quality Engineer look like?**
- Responsible for the quality of manufacture of LED optoelectronic components, LED assemblies & LED lighting products as well as related goods
- Incoming & outgoing goods inspections, supported by a Quality and Test Technician
- Customer liaison/contact for quality-related matters
- Supplier quality monitoring, analysis, evaluation & development
- Support continuous improvement of the company’s Quality Management System
- Auditing (suppliers and customers)
