**Lead Manufacturing Engineer**

Forge is excited to be recruiting for a hands-on Lead Manufacturing Engineer who will be responsible for ensuring that LED products are efficiently and economically taken from design to manufacture. This is a great opportunity to work within the green economyfor a pioneering leader in the custom LED lighting sector, based in stunning South Cumbria.
Full-time, Office based (37 hours, Mon-Fri).
**The Core Role**:
- Responsibility for ensuring that our LED-based products are efficiently and economically taken from design to volume manufacture both in the UK and overseas
- Responsibility for our UK-based LED product pilot manufacturing facility and managing a small team
- Collaborate with the Design team to ensure optimal manufacturability of new product designs
- Visit our manufacturing sites in the UK and worldwide to initiate new product manufacturing and to control ongoing production
- Plan, manage and implement multiple concurrent pilot production jobs
- Analysis of customer products, report writing for customers
- Gain LED component and LED industry knowledge
**Key Skills and Experience**:
Whatever your engineering background, we’re looking for someone who has:
- Experience of volume manufacturing electro-mechanical products
- Proficiency and experience in the use of CAD systems and in interpreting technical drawings
- Practical working knowledge of electronic circuits, manual soldering, and electrical assemblies
- A good degree or HND qualification in an Engineering or Applied Science (or equivalent relevant experience)
**Additional Useful Skills**:
- PCB and/or electromechanical product design experience
- Electromechanical inspection experience
- Experience of quality and statistical process control

- Practical, well-organised and happy to get stuck into everything from assembly jobs to designing and building production jigs
- Keen to learn and able to develop a strong understanding of our technical products
