- If you are analytical, detail oriented and passionate about team development, you have what this role needs You will join Pensions Financial Operations Employer Accounts team, providing key support in delivering the objectives of the team and leading the financial support staff. You will be responsible delivering high quality customer service and providing a range of financial and reporting services for the department and our stakeholders. You will need to be supportive, driven and always looking for ways to improve our performance

We are looking for people who have well developed analytical skills, are methodical in their approach to their work and have team management experience.
- Experience in a finance department
- Well developed report writing skills
- Contributes to the management and performance of the Pensions Financial Operations and Employer Accounts team function, providing leadership and direction as required. This will include recruitment, appraisal, absence management and training of staff members
- Contributes to the development and planning of the workload of the team. Makes daily adjustments to plans in order to meet organisational requirements and to ensure that all financial information is processed in accordance with procedures and legislation in an accurate and timely manner
- Investigate and resolve complex enquiries providing assistance and help as required
- Cultivating the services provided as a centre of excellence, achieved by overseeing the development of staff, services and systems in line with best practice, new initiatives, quality improvements and on-going consultation with key stakeholders
- Effective communication skills

In this role you are accountable for

Contributing to the management and performance of your Team, providing leadership and direction and inspiring excellent performance from the team members. This will include recruitment, including objective setting fully aligned to directorate and organisational objectives and goals, and the development and motivation of staff to achieve them, including implementing and conducting appraisals, 1-2-1’s and ensuring all staff have Personal Development Plans necessary to maintain performance.

Contributing to the development and planning of the workload of the team ensuring that all KPIs, reconciliations and internal controls are met in an accurate and timely manner. Makes daily adjustments to plans to meet organisational requirements and to ensure that all financial information is processed in accordance with procedures and legislation.

Contributing to the preparation of the Pension Scheme accounts, providing appropriate creditors, debtors, and other statutory information

Manage Employer Accounts Team accounting information and processes, ensuring
- The collection and analysis of contributions via multiple customer facing systems.
- The set up and management of direct debits and employer customer accounts.
- Credit control recovery for NHS Pension Scheme and Injury Benefit Scheme debt, escalation to external recovery agents where applicable.
- Effectively manage the missing payment processes and escalate to Stakeholder Engagement Team (SET) where applicable, and ultimately The Pensions Regulator.
- Liaison with the Scheme Access Team and external administrators in respect of company liquidations and ba
