Kennel Assistant

**Job Overview**

**Responsibilities**
- Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising.
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels and common areas to ensure a hygienic environment.
- Monitor the health and behaviour of animals, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff.
- Assist with the administration of medications as directed by veterinary professionals.
- Engage with pet owners, providing updates on their pets and addressing any questions or concerns.
- Support the team in heavy lifting tasks related to animal care and facility maintenance.
- Ensure all safety protocols are followed while handling animals and equipment.

**Requirements**:

- Previous experience in animal care or a veterinary setting is preferred but not essential.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required in the role.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners.
- A genuine love for animals and commitment to their welfare.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays if necessary.
- Basic knowledge of animal behaviour and health is an advantage.
