LEGAL & BUSINESS AFFAIRS COUNSEL FILM/TV SALES & DISTRUBUTION CENTRAL LONDON Our client is the international sales and distribution arm of a leading film production company, which has produced and distributed some of the most successful and critically-acclaimedfilms of all time. We are looking for Legal & Business Affairs Counsel to provide legal and commercial support to the International Content Sales and Distribution Division. The role will report to the EVP & General Counsel (LA office) and the SVP & Head ofInternational Sales (London office). Open to 4 or 5 day week. Key Responsibilities
- Perform business and legal affairs functions in connection with television and digital distribution of film and television content in all markets outside the U.S. and Canadawith a focus on pay TV, basic TV, free TV, SVOD and AVOD.
- Handle all aspects of licensing matters, including advising on deal structure and strategy, drafting documents, negotiating, and advising all phases of transactions to definitive agreement, and consultingon the management and administration of active agreements.
- Review procedures and paperwork for sales team and ensure best practices and deal terms attained, as well as keeping sales team up to speed and ahead of new developments including rights and practices.
- Assist with matters related to licensing and distribution, including acquisitions, content protection, delivery, and any legal issues.
- Work closely with lawyers based in the UK and Switzerland to ensure consistency across client groups, with contracting,rights definitions etc.
- Ad hoc legal matters relating to the UK office lease, memberships or staff matters including keeping abreast of health & safety, GDPR and implementing relevant policies.
