Personal Assistant to a Young Person Up to The Age

We are looking to recruit a Personal Assistant (on behalf of a family) to provide support with their child who has Cerebral Palsy. The Personal Assistant will be required to work with the family, support them in the home and to be an extra pair of hands when taking the child out into the community.
A Personal Assistant works directly with one or more individuals to support them with various aspects of their daily life so that they can live it in a way they choose. You will be employed directly by the family of the person who needs care and support. Daily tasks could include help with communication, physical tasks, and assisting the family when out in the community.
Experience with young children desirable. Previous work with disabilities an advantage but neither are necessary as additional training will be provided. Training will be given, if required, in areas such as Safeguarding, Health & Safety, Equal Opportunities, Manual Handling and Paediatric First Aid. A full enhanced DBS check will be required prior to starting with the family and will be provided.
As a Personal Assistant, you are likely to be involved in many aspects of your employers life and may be asked to support in the home, at leisure or at work. The opportunity to focus directly on the needs of the individual and the diversity of the role is what often attracts people to this type of work.
The family require 12-15 hours per week with a possibility of increased hours during school holidays. Working hours required are after school/evenings Monday - Friday and Weekends (To be agreed between the Personal Assistant and the family) Hourly rate of pay is £12.44 per hour.
Due to the nature of the job, the minimum required age of applicants is 17 years + and ideally live in Halton and the surrounding boroughs.
