**Responsibilities**:
As the Head of Construction, you will play a pivotal role in leading and developing our construction department. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Leading a team of experienced tutors and support staff, providing guidance, mentoring, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Developing and implementing innovative curriculum strategies that meet industry standards and align with the needs of our students and employers.
- Overseeing the effective delivery of construction programs, ensuring high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment practices.
- Collaborating with external partners, employers, and professional bodies to develop strong industry links and work placement opportunities for our students.
- Managing departmental budgets and resources efficiently to support the delivery of outstanding teaching and learning experiences.
**Requirements**:
To excel in this role, you will need:
- Extensive experience in education, in a leadership capacity.
- A relevant degree or professional qualification in Teaching (PGCE)
- Strong knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and emerging trends in the construction sector.
- Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with stakeholders at all levels.
- A commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusively within the college environment.
- Experience working within an educational setting, particularly in further education, would be advantageous.
