**Job Summary**
The Store Supervisor is essential to creating a thriving, customer-focused environment in the store, which specializes in unique ethnic and Halal food offerings. This role demands a talented leader who can adeptly manage inventory, ensure regulatory compliance, and deliver outstanding customer service while catering to a diverse clientele with an increasing demand for quality ethnic foods. Reporting directly to the Store Manager, the Store Supervisor also plays a key role in staff development and operational excellence, ensuring that the store not only meets but exceeds standards.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Store Operations**:
Overseeing the store’s daily operations, the Store Supervisor ensures that all policies and procedures are rigorously followed. From managing store opening and closing to ensuring that the store layout aligns with brand standards, this position requires a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to store presentation. Meeting the unique needs of customers with culturally specific products is a central priority.
- **Staff Supervision and Development**:
In this leadership role, the Store Supervisor motivates and trains team members to deliver exceptional customer service and efficiency. Key responsibilities include:
- Scheduling and supervising shifts to optimize coverage and performance.
- Conducting regular staff evaluations and providing coaching and guidance.
- Cultivating a supportive team environment that promotes collaboration and personal growth.
- **Inventory Management**:
Efficient inventory management is vital to this role. The Store Supervisor:
- Ensures stock levels meet demand, especially for ethnic and Halal products.
- Works closely with suppliers to maintain stock accuracy and address discrepancies.
- Conducts routine stock audits to ensure compliance with inventory standards.
- **Customer Service**:
Providing top-tier service is fundamental to this role. The Store Supervisor:
- Resolves customer inquiries and complaints with professionalism and tact, ensuring a positive shopping experience.
- Facilitates training in customer service to uphold service excellence.
- Possesses fluency in English, Urdu, and Punjabi to better serve the store’s diverse customer base, addressing needs with cultural sensitivity and understanding.
- **Sales and Financial Management**:
Meeting and surpassing sales targets requires skillful management. The Store Supervisor:
- Assists in achieving financial goals by encouraging sales and monitoring team performance.
- Oversees cash transactions and reconciles daily financial records with accuracy.
- Identifies opportunities to boost store profitability and implement effective sales strategies.
- **Regulatory Compliance and Health & Safety**:
Compliance with industry and health regulations is essential. The Store Supervisor:
- Ensures that all products, especially ethnic and Halal items, comply with regulatory standards.
- Conducts regular safety inspections, identifying and mitigating any risks.
- Guarantees adherence to health and safety regulations, safeguarding the well-being of both customers and staff.
**Salary and Working Conditions**:
- **Salary Offered**: £39,500 per year for a 37.5-hour work week (approximately £20 per hour).
- **Working Hours**: Flexibility is required; availability during evenings, weekends, and holidays may be necessary.
- **Environment**: Active retail setting with physical tasks, such as standing, occasional lifting, and managing a team.
**Qualifications**:
- **Education**: High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field is an asset.
- **Experience**: Prior experience as a Store Supervisor or in a similar retail setting.
- **Skills**:
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in POS systems and thorough understanding of inventory management.
- Problem-solving abilities and strong organizational skills.
- Language proficiency: Fluent in English, with additional fluency in Urdu and Punjabi to enhance customer communication.
**Note**: Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the Store Manager based on store requirements.
Pay: £39,500.00 per year

- GCSE or equivalent (preferred)
**Experience**:
- Retail sales: 1 year (preferred)
- Supervising experience: 1 year (preferred)
- Customer service: 1 year (preferred)
