**Littleborough, United Kingdom** **Type of contract: FTC for 6 months (with potential possibility to extend)** **MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES** - Ensure control procedures are in place, adequate and being adhered to in order to produce safe finished products meeting legal & customer requirements. - Manage allocated budget, assisting to meet departmental budget. - Challenge, influence and effect change to deliver improvements in GMP, factory and hygiene standards. - Effective control of non-conforming materials/ products (including correct and timely management of product status on SAP). - Appropriate management of all food safety/quality incidents (including corrective action). - Be actively involved in customer visits and third party audits and play active role in helping site to prepare for audits/ visits. - Ensure full compliance with Company Quality, Food Safety, Health & Safety and Environmental requirements. - Monitor and trend product conformity and actively identify areas for improvement. - Audit, monitor and recommend actions relating to traceability systems and process records pertaining to food safety, quality and legality. - Direct the QA Technicians and play a key role in their development to ensure function objectives are met and to meet future departmental requirements. Objective assessment of QA staff performance. - Provide timely and suitable support to the QA Lab Lead. - Deputise for the QA Lab Lead as appropriate and necessary. - Assist with customer complaint investigations and identification of appropriate corrective action. - Be involved with internal audit activities and recommend actions to help with continuous improvement programme. - Cover the QA technicians on shift in the event of sickness/ absence and holiday. - Be a key player in the effective management of the pest control contract. - Provide technical support for Operational, NPD, Central Technical and Commercial teams as required. **CANDIDATE PROFILE** - Educated to A-Level standard or equivalent. A formal technical qualification would be a distinct advantage. - Relevant QA and team leadership experience in a food manufacturing environment is essential. - Knowledge and experience of HACCP and BRC standard desirable. - Flexible and committed to quality and continuous improvement. - Eye for detail. - Be a team player with a "hands on" approach. - Good organisational and communication skills. - PC Literate. - Man-management skills. - Self starter and ability to work well under pressure. - Not afraid to make decision in "real time". **COMPANY** At McCormick, we bring our passion for flavor to work each day.
