Female Support Worker

Active Case Management is seeking a dynamic female support worker to provide support in everyday activities to a 50 year old lady with an acquired brain injury and complex needs, which includes a metabolic condition, epilepsy and asthma.
Our client lives with her parents in the Rochdale area. She enjoys Harry Potter, crafts, yoga, swimming and pottery. Our client is in need of an experienced and age-appropriate support worker, who will support her to undertake the aforementioned activities.
**JOB TITLE**: Support Worker.
**HOURS**: Thursday 15.00 to 22.00.
Friday 08.00 to 15.00.
Every other Sunday 11.00 to 18.00.
Additional cover for sickness and holidays.
**LOCATION**: Rochdale.
**RATE OF PAY**: £12.52 per hour for weekday hours. £14.48 per hour for weekend hours.
**OTHER INFORMATION**:
Full driving licence is essential. Support staff are required to drive the client’s own vehicle.
NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent is preferred.

**CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- To support the client with daily living tasks as outlined in the care plan.
- To provide prompts to the client when necessary.
- To respect the client’s family and work in partnership with them.
- To be aware of the client’s dietary needs and be confident in preparing/cooking bespoke meals.
- To be aware of the client’s overall health and to follow care plans and guidance.
- To encourage and support the client to participate in activities in the home and community.
- To understand the importance of routine and to support the client to maintain her routine.
- To drive the client in her own vehicle.
- To attend medical appointments with the client, as required.
- To maintain the client’s safety and well-being at all times in accordance with risk assessments, care plan and direction, but to also use initiative where necessary.
- To understand the client’s psychological/emotional needs and to use appropriate strategies, as advised.
- To communicate and interact with the client in a way that is appropriate for her needs.
- To undertake medication management and related tasks.
- To complete daily reports and written/verbal handovers.
- To attend regular 1:1 supervision with the Team Leader or Case Manager.
- To attend staff meetings and training.
