Your responsibilities encompass collaborative leadership, meticulous network planning and ensuring seamless project delivery. A competitive salary will be offered for this role and this can be discussed at interview. **Key Responsibilities** **Team Collaboration & Leadership** - Collaborate closely with engineering and delivery teams, fostering a strong connection with engineers, technicians, and project managers. - As a senior member of the design team, you will be expected to mentor and guide our dynamic internal design team, prioritising workloads and promoting skill development. **Network Planning** - Partner with internal design teams and external contract partners to meticulously plan and develop fibre expansion projects, considering coverage, capacity, and scalability. - Showcase expertise in all facets of FTTP design and adeptly utilise GIS systems. **Site Surveys** - Conduct on-site Joint Walkouts to assess the feasibility of fibre network designs, proactively identifying potential obstacles and recommending effective solutions to contract partners. **Regulatory Compliance** - Ensure strict adherence to local regulations and requirements in all network design projects. - Demonstrate proficiency in health and safety practices, specifically aligning with Construction Design Management Regulations. **Cost-Control** - Collaborate on the creation of project budgets and CPPP’s, ensuring projects are completed within established financial constraints. - Leverage extensive knowledge of rate cards and Bill of Materials for effective cost management. **Documentation** - Maintain meticulous records of network designs, as-builts, and project documentation. - Innovate documentation processes to enhance efficiency and streamline project delivery. **Essential qualifications and experience** - Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Telecommunications, CAD, or Electrical Engineering) or equivalent industry experience. - In-depth knowledge of fibre optic technology, network architecture, and industry standards, with a focus on XGSPON. - Familiarity with BT Passive Infrastructure Access and infrastructure re-use. **Essential skills and competencies** - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Proven project management and organisational abilities. - Proficiency in relevant software tools, including AutoCAD or GIS software (QGIS, IQGEO). - Excellent communication and teamwork skills, coupled with the ability to lead and mentor junior staff. - Knowledge of BDUK planning processes is advantageous. **Benefits** - Great Culture & Awesome People - 25 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays - Enhanced Parental Benefits - Employee Referral Scheme - Birthday Day Off - Flexible Working - Bike to Work Scheme - Volunteer days - Company events & awards - Medicash - Health cash plan - Employee Assistance Program **Equality and Diversity** - Age - Disability - Gender reassignment - Marriage or civil partnership - Pregnancy or maternity - Race - Religion - Sex - Sexual Orientation
