**Assistant Nursery Manager**

**The Organisation**
The Royal Parks (TRP) is a charity created in March 2017. We manage over 5,000 acres of diverse parkland, rare habitats and historic buildings and monuments in eight Royal Parks across London. These are: Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, The Green Park, St James’sPark, The Regent's Park and Primrose Hill, Greenwich Park, Richmond Park and Bushy Park.
We also manage other important public spaces including Brompton Cemetery and Victoria Tower Gardens. Our eight Royal Parks and other public spaces are among the most visited attractions in the UK with 77 million visits every year.
We are now looking for an Assistant Nursery Manager to join us on a permanent, full-time basis.

**The Role**
As an Assistant Nursery Manager, you will manage a team of staff to produce the seasonal bedding requirements of the Royal Parks.
You will manage the nursery team, overseeing line management responsibilities, such as the allocation of tasks, shift rotas and overtime, and identifying opportunities for further training and development.
Assisting in the direction of production and growing environments, you’ll purchase seeds and other materials and monitor plant health in terms of temperature control. You will also manage and control moisture, pests and diseases and ensure plant stock are managed,recorded and updated.
Additionally, you will:

- Oversee the hygiene and cleanliness of the nursery
- Assist in the day-to-day management of the nursery budget and financial records
- Operate and troubleshoot the automatic irrigation system
**About You**
To be considered as an Assistant Nursery Manager, you will need:

- Demonstrable experience of horticulture production
- Experience of managing and/or supervising operational staff
- Experience of undertaking health and safety checks and/or toolbox talks
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- IT proficiency
- At a minimum, a Horticulture Level 2 Diploma or equivalent qualification/experience
