**Senior Support Worker - The Pleasance, Edlington**

Cristal Care are currently recruiting for a senior support worker to be based at The Pleasance, Edlington

The individuals that we support are at the heart of what we do, we support people with learning disabilities, autism and other vulnerable adults with dignity, individuality inclusion and support people to reach their potential.

**Key Duties**:
The post involves providing individuals with direct support, and when required to act up as a Team Leader and take responsibility for the establishment in the absence of the deputy/home manager.

It is important to ensure that high standards are maintained. To keep a check on staffing levels and ensure that any shortfalls are covered. It is essential to ensure that the home’s upkeep is maintained, health and welfare of residents are paramount and to ensure conformity with company expectations and CQC standards for quality and safety.

An important element of the role is to lead shifts, manage staff including completing probation meeting, supervision and appraisal with the staff team, ensure that the site is safe and that required support is provided in the absence of the Team Leader. It is important to always act as a positive role model and provide high quality support for people that we support.

It is important for a senior support worker to ensure that individuals specific needs are met, such as:

- Medical and dental attention
- Medication
- Dietary requirements
- Religious observance and culturally significant activities

A night senior support worker must provide leadership, guidance and management, communicating a clear sense of direction which staff understand and are able to relate to the aims and core values of the home. A night senior support worker is responsible for the deployment of staff, and be able to skill match the staff team with individuals we support.

**Key skills/experience**:

- Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate with individuals at all levels, it is important to maintain close contact with families and external professionals.
- Good written communication skills
- Experience in leading a small staff team and supporting them to care for others, especially those with a learning disability and that may display behaviour which challenges.
- Health and social care level 2 or 3

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time
Part-time hours: 35 per week

**Salary**: £10.30 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Edlington, DN12 1PL: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- providing care: 1 year (required)
- supervisory: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Driving Licence (preferred)
- NVQ Level 2 Health & Social Care (preferred)
