**Student Services Coordinator**
API is seeking a **student services coordinator** to work alongside our London team in managing our student study abroad programmes in **London**. This role will be a **full-time role** on a **permanent contract**. This is a **hybrid **role with most days in the office (Tottenham Court Road) but the ability to work from home as agreed. However a lot of time **will be spent out and about with the students. **For the cultural events (which take place once a week) this will be in and around London. For the day trips and overnight trips (3 per semester) it will be to destinations such as Edinburgh, Wales, Liverpool and York. It may also be necessary to lead customised groups around England for a number of nights in a row. It is essential that students do not miss classes to attend these activities so these events may take place on **weekends or evenings**.
Reporting to the Country Manager, the student services coordinator will assist with the **planning, pricing, budgeting and organisation** of API’s cultural events and student orientation in London. This will include, but is not limited to, physically **leading the events;** arranging student housing; design and delivery of on-site orientations; **researching and developing itineraries, pricing** of transportation, hotels, meals and activities, **identifying and booking **guest lecturers; organising and attending cultural activities, excursions and events for students and acting as a cultural coach to assist students in their cultural adaptation. This role will also require the ability to **establish and maintain close relationships** with host universities; help to develop unique itineraries for programs sponsored with U.S.based universities and work with the Finance, Product and Programming, and Marketing divisions to collect information for future programming. This role will also be responsible for **leading multi-day tours** with university professors and students around the country; **dealing with emergencies **when with the groups.
The student services coordinator will also be responsible for **supporting students throughout their time in London**, and managing student, parent, university and employer expectations while working to ensure high levels of customer service are maintained (e.g., by helping students navigate academic challenges, and connecting them with support resources). They will also share 24-hour emergency duties with other in-country API team members. This job description is considered a guide to the position and should not be considered exhaustive.
**Requirements**:
- Live in London

- Excellent written and spoken communication, time management and organisational skills
- Ability to multi-task and work to strict deadlines
- Ability to work independently and on own initiative and collaboratively as part of an international team
- A positive, can-do attitude
- Flexibility and willingness to assist across other areas and programmes when required
- Working knowledge of Google workspace, Google sheets and Microsoft packages
**Preferable**
- Experience in the tourism sector particularly leading tours
- Event planning and event management experience
- Experience in similar role
- Experience working to strict deadlines
- Experience of living or working abroad
- Professional or academic experience within the education sector
- Experience with safeguarding procedures
