**X2 Recruit are looking for a Transport Technician for our client in Southampton.**
**Temp position until January**
To play a key administrative role in supporting activities for the operational provision for the School Travel Service. Carry out administrative duties for the school travel planning, transport operator procurement, staff recruitment and training, and health and safety management for the effective delivery of safe, suitable and sustainable school travel arrangements. Update the school travel database and liaise with internal/external stakeholders such as Children’s Services, Health and Safety, Procurement, schools, colleges, parents/carers, and a range of other agencies. Play a significant role in developing a healthy and safe environment where Southampton is chosen over other cities as a place to work and reside.
Carry out administrative activities to support the provision of safe, efficient, and effective school travel services for children and young persons from 5- 25 years of age, ensuring high customer service standards are maintained, with key responsibility for a designated area of the City.
Support activities for the travel planning and daily operational activities to deliver effective travel arrangements, including raising purchase orders, in the most cost-effective manner, including continuous route optimisation, in line with agreed policies and procedures and provide support to junior staff.
Administrative support for School Passenger Assistant recruitment and training and service health and safety processes.
Liaise with internal/external stakeholders as required and make support travel arrangements including the provision of School Travel Passenger Assistants and cover arrangements, and equipment as required.
Ensure all school travel records in the school travel database area accurate and up to date ensuring it is an effective and reliable tool to manage travel arrangements and the accurate reporting of statistical and financial information.
Answer and manage daily enquiries and manage issues including timings, amendments, cancellations, client behaviour, driver behaviour, complaints, incidents/accidents, safeguarding issues etc. liaising with internal/external stakeholders as appropriate, understanding when to escalate to senior staff.
Undertake and / or contribute to service risk assessments, audits and project work as required.
Attend forums and events with senior staff to support and promote school travel services.
On a rota basis, provide AM and PM office cover to support the early morning and late afternoon travel arrangements.
Pay: £13.79 per hour
