We work to ensure their voices are heard, and campaign to bring lasting change to theirlives. **About the Role**: Northants Short Breaks Service is a county-wide service providing short breaks to children and young people and their families. We have an inclusive approach that takes into account age, disability, and wider needs. It fits with our ethos of believing inthe importance of allowing children and young people to socialise and develop relationships with other children and young people, regardless of their age, need and ability. Our service provides county-wide out of school play and leisure activities for childrenand young people with disabilities aged 5 - 18 years. **As a Community Short Breaks Practitioner, you'll be:** - Leading and managing a team who support children and young people to reach their potential, across multiple areas of day to day lives. - Building positive relationships with families and work with professional colleagues to ensure we can support each child to achieve the best outcomes. - Running a range of clubs and activities. The project operates during school holidays, weekends and evenings. - Providing positive pro social modelling for children and young people, supporting them to access a range of activities and community.support - Taking responsibility for day to day resource planning to ensure high quality services are delivered. **What You'll Bring**: Our job description for the Community Short Break Practitioner outlines the requirements of the role but the ‘must-haves' are: - Diploma Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant area. - Experience of line management. - Ability to lead staff teams to work flexibly in order to support families at critical times. - Proven track record of managing staff in the context of supporting and developing people - Strong understanding of the issues and challenges facing families. - Sound knowledge of multi-agency work. - Experience of working directly with families with complex needs. - Strength based approach to supporting families Working here is so much more than a job.
