Information Governance Officer

Do you have a good eye for detail? Are you passionate about data protection and privacy? If so, there is an exciting opportunity to further develop your expertise, skills and knowledge within the Information Governance Team at Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.
We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and highly motivated individual who is passionate about information governance compliance.
As a key member of the Information Governance Team, you will be responsible for ensuring that the Trust remains compliant with Data Protection Legislation, Information Governance regulations and standards contributing to the delivery of an effective Information Governance service across the organisation.
Key elements of the role will involve;
- Experience in large-scale implementations of projects involving internal and external stakeholders, including digital transformation and assessment of new technology involving data protection and data security risks.
- Review and provide expertise on complex questions regarding DPIAs and ISAs, including third party data security due diligence.
- To be able to translate the complex requirements of legislation into comprehensible operational advice for services across a wide ranging audience.
- Development of complex ISA’s, and Processing Agreements.
- Investigating incidents and breaches, providing advice and recommendations.
- Development of Factsheets and Information Governance Communications.
You will need specialist knowledge of Information Governance legislation, including the Data Protection Act 2018, the UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the Caldicott Principles, Information Governance Standards and Information Security, especially in regard to the ever increasing implementation of digital transformation.
Strong communication, analytical and attention to detail skills are a must as you will be interpreting and communicating complex organisational data. You will also have outstanding organisational planning and administrative skills and the ability to manage constantly changing priorities and competing demands in order to meet deadlines. You will be able to work flexibly as part of a busy team.
The post may involve working onsite as well as remote/home working, and possible occasional travel.
The post is a full-time 2 year fixed term contract.
