**The opportunity**:
Join EDF as a Nuclear Policy Lead, you’ll be part of the Strategy and Corporate Affairs Directorate which is one of the corporate functions within the business. You’ll work closely with the Generation and New Nuclear teams to identify, agree and implement policy and regulatory strategies best calculated to facilitate the achievements of EDF’s strategic goals.

As a Nuclear Policy Lead you’ll develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, particularly BEIS, Government and nuclear stakeholders. You’ll lead on policy campaigns connected to EDF nuclear operations and growth strategy and mitigate key risk areas.

The Nuclear Policy Lead will support the Head of Nuclear and Wholesale (P&R) developing and managing the company position in response to external policies which have consequences for nuclear generation and new build businesses. You’ll ensure that key risks are fully understood and integrated within the overall Generation and Nuclear New Build strategic and business planning processes.

This is a really important and exciting time for nuclear generation in the UK as the Government seeks to deliver its ambitions for a nuclear renaissance. This role is at the centre of this policy development and is a great opportunity to make an impact.

**What we’re looking for**:
Being a Nuclear Policy Lead at EDF means you’ll have a thorough understanding of either Nuclear power station construction and operation and/or energy and climate change policy. You’ll be able to define key issues in complex policy initiatives and develop solutions with a minimum of direction and supervision.

We’re looking for someone who has a high level of self motivation who has a good understanding of the commercial context of electricity generation, together with the key features of the main generation technologies and their particular policy needs. The Nuclear Policy Lead will have excellent analytical skills and be able to turn complex data into relevant understandable policy options and be confident working with senior level stakeholders both internally and externally.

As a Nuclear Policy Lead you’ll have a passion for helping Britain achieve Net Zero with excellent presentation and interpersonal skills along with proven experience of writing clear, persuasive documents to present options and recommendations with impact.
