**Highways Inspector**

**Working Pattern: 37 hrs per week - Monday to Friday**

**Location: Nottinghamshire**

Via currently has a fantastic opportunity for those who enjoy working outdoors, problem-solving, and like to feel they are contributing to the wellbeing of the local community - to join our Highways Team as a Highways Inspector based at one of our Depots across Nottinghamshire

**About the role**:
As a Highways Inspector, you will be out inspecting Nottinghamshire’s highways and ordering repairs of highway defects which include flooding events, sink holes, overhanging vegetation, missing gullies, potholes and checking condition of roads after road traffic accidents. You will order repairs using electronic devices and liaising with various teams across via such as highway liaison, rights of way, road safety and operations.

You will inspect and investigate insurance claims and produce detailed reports and represent the company and the local highway authority in court against third-party claims. You will communicate with members of the public, members of the council, MPs, Councillors, and company stakeholders. You will ensure that Health and Safety legislation, Policy and best practice is fully adhered to.
- Knowledge of the Highway Inspection and Risk Manual
- Experience in a Highway or Construction with relevant knowledge.
- Good communication skills and an ability to work collaboratively with others.
- Basic IT skills with the ability to use a variety of IT packages including databases, word, excel and outlook.
- Ability to plan your own workload
- Full cat B drivers' licence
