Lead a team of Kubernetes engineers to build and maintain a data and infrastructure platform;
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Platform team and work closely across a broad range stakeholders to ensure customer and user requirements are met;
- Implement continuous infrastructure monitoring, analysis, and optimisation for new features;
- Enhance and develop automated infrastructure provisioning and post provisioning automation using Terraform and Ansible;
- Continually improve existing and new features that balance service reliability and delivery speed;
- Establish standardised best practices throughout the department with a focus on efficiency and value-add;
- Provide out of hours on-call cover if necessary;
- Maintain agreed levels of system uptime;
- Create and maintain up-to-date technical documentation.

For this role, we are looking for someone who has:

- Proven experience architecting and building highly available infrastructure platforms that are resistant to failure;
- Experience with container and container orchestration technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, and Terraform;
- Previous hands-on development/coding experience with Python, Bash or other relevant scripting languages used in automation;
- Experience with large data ingestion and storage technologies (Kafka, Logstash, Elastic etc.);
- Experience with a major cloud provider (preferably AWS);
- Experience with Infrastructure as code practices, including infrastructure testing and immutable infrastructure;
- Previous team management experience including mentoring/supporting staff members and establishing best practices;
- Ability to work in a fluid and rapidly changing working environment;
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and meet deadlines;
- Strong organisational skills with a high attention to detail;
- Ability to prioritise and handle multiple tasks at any given time;
- Pro-active and enthusiastic with a can do attitude;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Strong commercial acumen;
- Ability to work on own initiative as well as being a team player.
