Project risk management (PRM) is an important element of our Programme and Project Management (PPM) business. We continue to be strong in our target energy (generation, transmission and distribution) and transport infrastructure (rail, highways and airports). The role is to help deliver PRM commissions, identify and secure new PRM commissions, and develop and support junior grades. Initially, the focus will be on (1). The project responsibilities and integration into client teams will require flexibility in terms of working location and associated travel.

The post holder will report to the PRM team leader and will be expected to carry out the following activities:

- Provide PRM advice to internal and external clients in a variety of market sectors at different lifecycle stages, including:

- Assessing risk (e.g. CAPEX, OPEX, schedule, revenue and reputation) qualitatively and semi-quantitatively;
- Quantifying CAPEX & schedule risk exposure using Monte Carlo simulation;
- Reporting and advising on risk exposure and risk response plans.
- Manage PRM commissions with mínimal supervision from the PRM team leader
- Develop working relationships with Arup client account managers and business leaders
- Identify and help realise marketing and sales opportunities, especially with existing clients
- Mentor junior risk consultants
- Continually review how we could improve our service offering by (a) reviewing how PRM is practised by others, (b) monitoring PRM developments in the marketplace, and (c) acting on lessons we learn when delivering our PRM service
- Work closely with internal project teams (especially project managers, technical discipline leaders, planners and quantity surveyors) to recommend and provide PRM support

**Experience, Knowledge and Skills**

**Essential**
- Risk management experience (preferably in transport infrastructure or energy market sectors)
- Monte Carlo simulation (of cost and schedule)
- Chairing risk workshops
- Evidence of professional mentoring and/or coaching

**Desirable**
- Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) experience
- Using Power Bi to help visualise risk-related data/ information
- Evidence of professional mentoring and/or coaching
