You can experience a world of opportunity and the chance to shape a career as unique as you.A Little More About Your Role…We are looking for a Senior Flood Risk and Drainage Consultant who has experience in the delivery of flood risk and consequence assessments and sustainable drainage strategy solutions to work collaboratively on technically complex projects for a range of clients.Working as part of our national team, the successful candidate will also be able to work seamlessly across other technical areas within the Sustainable Water Management team. This includes but is not limited to LLFA technical services, Water EIA input, permitting applications, drainage design, SAB submissions in Wales (extending into England in due course).Responsibilities will include:Carry out and supervise the completion of FCAs and FRAs for a variety of schemesProvide technical input into sustainable drainage strategies and design for complex schemesOversee the preparation of feasibility studies and supporting drawingsPrepare successful SAB submissions with Welsh Local AuthoritiesDeliver Section 19 Flood InvestigationsHave technical oversight and training of junior consultants, ensuring high-quality outputsSupport tendering and work winning activities of the teamTaking leadership of certain project management activities, including financial and programme management.Be multi-disciplinary and client-facing, co-ordinating project meetings both internally and externallyCommunicating and liaising effectively and efficiently with the project team (both the Sustainable Water Management team and the wider business)Your team…Due to strong and sustained growth in our Sustainable Water Management business, we are seeking new colleagues who have experience in Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage to join our team of 350 water consultancy and engineering professionals. Applicants are invited to further strengthen our technical capability in our water team to lead the delivery of a range of project work, including planning and DCO applications for major infrastructure development.The Sustainable Water Management business operates as a national team: work, training and technical expertise are shared around the local teams ensuring project allocation considers personal interests and personal development aspirations and much as practicableSkills / ExperienceWhat we will be looking for you to demonstrate…Flood Risk and Consequence Assessments preparation in England and Wales, and experience in one or more of the typical supporting skills including flood risk modelling, flood risk strategy development or Water EIA, at least some of which should have been in consultancyDrainage Strategies and SAB submissions in WalesDrainage design using AutoCAD and hydraulic modelling, using industry-standard software (e.g. Causeway Flow/Microdrainage, InfoWorks)Familiarity with any industry-standard geographical information systems (e.g. ArcGIS, QGIS, MapInfo)Knowledge of the regulatory context for flood risk planning and sustainable drainage approvals in the UK.Technical inputs for planning and permitting for major infrastructure projectsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsSome experience in supporting commercial aspects and project management.QualificationsA degree in a relevant environmental, geographical, science or engineering discipline is essentialActively working towards chartered status with IEng, C.WEM or CEngImagine a better future for you and a better future for us all.Join our close-knit community of talented individuals who share your passion for making a positive impact.
