The Commercial Manager shall provide an effective level of commercial ownership and support to the day-to-day operation of current programmes and bids, and help to ensure that all commercial/contractual interests of the business are protected and appropriatelygoverned. This shall include providing commercial leadership across the delivery portfolio and new business initiatives to ensure successful delivery and maximised profitability, with regulatory and good business practice upheld at all times.

Overall responsibility for all customer contracts within the business.

Development of complex commercial proposals and contracting mechanisms.

Studying the requirements, duties and obligations of the company under contracts to ensure alignment with the company's goals and industry regulations.

Providing commercial input into the cost estimating process.

Sign-off of bid/project terms in accordance with own levels of delegated authority and obtaining further corporate approvals in accordance with company delegations of authority.

Identification and management of commercial risks to meet project commitments.

Support to the production and assessment of supplier request for proposals (RFPs) ensuring risk mitigation and value for money is achieved and meets customer's needs.

Analysis and drafting of contract requirements and terms and conditions to ensure compliance with law and corporate policies.

Develop negotiation strategies and lead negotiations to ensure strategic negotiation and signature of Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), ensuring all company requirements are met.

The ideal candiate for this role will have - Broad knowledge of customer base and industry segment

In-depth knowledge of MoD/defence contracting and procurement rules

Strong Presentation and communication skills

Good planning and organisational skills

Proactive style and results driven

Ability to understand and interpret customer requirements and contractual issues
