**Job description**:
As part of a team of up to six employees, you will typically be working for a Commercial Manager developing procurement requirements with other Dstl employees and internal projects. You will determine procurement strategies and support value for money tendering including negotiation with suppliers and supplier selection.

We are seeking experienced Commercial Officers ideally with experience of public sector procurement regulations - PCR & DSPCR, but also Commercial Officers with transferable skills sets and a desire to succeed.

**In this role you will**:

- Proven communications skills and ability to work in collaboration with colleagues, project staff and engage suppliers as part of contract negotiations.
- The ability to develop and seek out cost effective options.
- The ability to seek and implement opportunities for improved service delivery and efficiencies

**Person specification**:
**Essential Experience**
- You have worked in a ‘Commercial Procurement’ role which has enabled you to work independently on sourcing, category management and contract management activities.

**Essential Qualifications**

Five GCSEs (or equivalent) grade 4/C or higher which must include English and Maths.

Have achieved professional competencies either through relevant commercial procurement experience, combined with commercial qualifications or preferably at or working towards MCIPS.

**Important Information***

This role will require full UK security clearance and you should have resided in the UK for the past 5 years. For some roles Developed Vetting will also be required, in this case you should have resided in the UK for the past 10 years.
