**The Office of Voluntary Sub-Warden - Faraday Hall**

A promising opportunity has opened up in the Faraday Halls of Residence for an individual to commence a **12 month**, fixed term sub-warden appointment. Applications for this career-building opportunity are invited from doctoral researchers only - ideally with a substantial amount of time remaining on their programme.

**_ The Hall:_** _Faraday Hall is a vibrant, historic community located at the top of the Student Village on Loughborough’s main campus. One of the University’s founding catered halls, Faraday combines tradition with energy, offering students a rich sense of belonging in a central location just a short walk from the library, the paddock, and other campus amenities. Known for its strong student engagement, inclusive spirit, and long-standing hall pride, Faraday offers a lively and supportive environment in the heart of the University._

**_ Duties:_** Faraday Sub-Wardens assist the Warden in the day to day running of the hall. This may involve pastoral, disciplinary and administrative duties as well as being involved in social aspects of hall life. The successful applicant will be part of a team which provides out-of-hours emergency cover in a hall of about 367 students, fostering a positive student experience.

You will be welcomed to meet the Faraday Warden Team on **6th August 2025** in the Graduate House (with MS Teams availability too) at 6-7pm. If you would like to attend, please complete this **short form** by **4th August at 6pm pm.** Please note, this session will not be recorded.
- The Office of Voluntary Sub-Wardenship Application Form.
- An accompanying 1-2 page letter outlining suitability for the post.
- Two written references (PhD Supervisors, Director of Studies / Line Manager, Head of Section).

In addition, the successful applicant will be required to take a day away from their studies on (e.g. **Wednesday 24th September 2025** to assist the Warden’s Team during Faraday’s First Years Arrivals Day.
