We are looking for individuals to promote the EAP business and grow our already experienced global production team.
**The Challenge Ahead**:
The Senior Development Director for EA Partners will partner and develop world-class external studio teams who create, execute and deliver an evolving portfolio of innovative connected game and entertainment experiences for Electronic Arts. You will take a leadership role in creating high quality, innovative and culturally relevant externally developed games across the worldwide landscape, overseeing production from initial concept development through to delivering high-quality games that deliver amazing player experiences - on-time and on-budget.
Reporting to the GM of EA Partners, you will demonstrate a mix of exceptional partner management skills, the ability to influence and advocate for best and most applicable development practices, develop flexible working solutions that fit the partner and EA. Additionally, you will have proven experience interacting with production and operational planning, technical teams, and business groups.
**Responsibilities**:
You will be a person who enjoys working with a variety of independent studios on the production of multiple games. You will ensure there are credible plans and budgets in place and that the studios are set up for success. You will also work with the studios’ development management team to ensure that there is a development process for the projects to allow them to meet their goals of on budget, on time and quality game releases. You will use your experience to help influence and develop the partner studios, ensuring they are connected to the right people and teams within the EA organisation to achieve successful launches and ongoing support of amazing gaming experiences.
Be present to connect with the EAP team and other EA partners on a regular basis. Attending team meetings, updating on your project priorities and building great internal relationships.
Ability to travel to partner studios.
Work with your assigned development teams and where necessary, providing coaching to help use your experience to develop the partner studios’ Producers and Development Directors to achieve our collective goals.
Ensure that the development partner studio is connected with and talking to the right people and teams within EA to help mitigate risks and keep development on track.
Lead external Developer Relations to visit, evaluate and propose best-fit external talent for EA.
Review developers for possible augmented project options (e.g. internal IP extensions/support) in addition to full game development.
Contribute to a culture that provides continuous feedback, support and empowerment
Establish model behaviour that supports EA’s standards of professionalism, integrity, and ethics
Working with out partners to develop and implement a credible roadmap and supporting execution plan.
Develop and publish KPI's that track project quality, delivery, and financial status and risks.
You will conduct plan reviews with each of our partners according to milestone gates; ensure consistent delivery and valid strategy to meet milestones and develop mitigation plans as risks surface.
**Qualifications**:
Experience managing large projects and playing a prominent part as a studio leader.
Experience implementing project management principles and practices.
In-depth knowledge of game operations acquired from 10+ years’ experience in project management on AAA game franchises or similar software development projects.
Experience working with external partners.
Experience building new business or franchises.
Deep knowledge of all aspects of game creation, gained from working through a number of early game innovation cycles through production to shipping games.
Proven track record of managing multiple teams (both internal & external) that have successfully delivered products to the marketplace.
Adaptable and comfortable with new business models as well as traditional game development / entertainment content distribution models.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Ability to manage and work within ambiguity to reach a successful outcome.
**Principal working relationships**:
GM, EP’s, Heads and development leads of Studios, Quality Assurance/Customer Support, operations and international offices for product release coordination.
