Baby Room Leader

Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Baby Room Leader to join our team. As a Baby Room Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the baby room, ensuring the safety and well-being of the children, and providing a nurturing and stimulating environment for their development.
**Full-time: 40 hrs per week between 8:00am and 6.00 pm shifts**

**Purpose of job and primary objectives**
- Maintain a High Quality standards of early years provision in Baby room, including physical, personal, social and emotional education and care for children in the setting
- Manage and deploy team effectively ensuring high quality of training is provided including providing one-to one support, peer on peer observations and weekly training to baby room team
- To promote excellent practice at all times
- Understand the principles and content of the Early years Foundation Stage Statutory framework and Outcomes and know how to put them in to practice
- To have high expectations of all children and to demonstrate commitment to ensuring that they can achieve their full potential.
- Establish and sustain a safe, welcoming, purposeful, stimulating and encouraging environment where children feel confident and secure and are able to develop and learn.
- Promote the use of informed observation and other strategies to monitor children’s activity, development and progress systematically and carefully, and to use this information to inform, plan and improve practice and provision.
- Establish fair, respectful, trusting, supportive and constructive relationships with children, communicating sensitively and effectively with children to the end of the foundation stage.
- Maintain a culture of listening to children, paying attention to what they say and valuing and respecting their views.
- Maintain fair, respectful and constructive relationships with families and parents/carers, and communicate sensitively and effectively with them.
- To respect the confidentiality of information received about each child and their family
- Sustain a culture of collaborative and cooperative working between colleagues.
- Ensure the policies and practices of the setting are being implemented within the room
- Develop and use skills in EYFS and development matters to support their work with children and wider professional activities
- Play an active role in identifying and finding ways of meeting own needs for professional development and the development needs of your team and the setting as a whole.
- To record observations and assess children’s next steps in learning.
- Maintain standards of cleanliness and hygiene within the nursery.
- Maintain and replenish resources in the nursery environment.
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities and programs to promote the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development of children
- Create a safe and secure environment for children, adhering to all health and safety regulations
- Supervise and support nursery staff, providing guidance and mentoring as needed
- Maintain accurate records of children's progress, including observations, assessments, and individual learning plans
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding their child's progress, behavior, and any concerns or issues that may arise
- Collaborate with other nursery staff to ensure smooth operation of the nursery room
- Assist with meal times, diaper changes, and other daily care routines as required
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities

- A responsible and mature demeanor
- Excellent understanding and implementation of the EYFS, child safety and safeguarding issues
- Understanding of customer care
**Experience**:
- Minimum of 1 years of experience working in a nursery or early childhood setting
- Hold a relevant qualification in early childhood education or equivalent
- Excellent knowledge of the EYFS, child development and best practices
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to supervise and support staff members
