Outpatients Receptionist

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, personable, dynamic and self-motivated individual, to join the Patient Access Team as Outpatient Receptionist.
The role involves supporting patients face to face and over the telephone. You will also have the opportunity to work and train in other areas within Patient Access, gaining essential skills and experience to support ongoing personal development.
Ensure that you adhere to the Patient Administration Service standard operating procedures at all times, highlighting to a Team Leader any situations where this is not achievable.
Cover a range of shift patterns and sites as required by the service and it’s patients, which may include both early and late shifts.
Provide cross-cover for other staff across the service to ensure a consistent and effective service is maintained at all times.
To attend any meetings relevant to your role.
General administrative duties for the department such as faxing, filing, photocopying and distribution of mail.
Register referrals and make arrangements for clinical grading.
Arrange outpatient appointments, using the Choose and Book system where applicable, confirming, cancelling and changing appointments as necessary.
Arrange transport and translation services where necessary.
Ensure all patient administration is in line with the Trust’s access policy, highlighting issues and taking corrective action where necessary, ensuring compliance with national referral to treatment time targets.
