**Role Summary**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- Sourcing, cleansing and maintaining datasets required for modelling purposes;
- Designing and building short
- and long-term energy models, used in forecasting,
- Analysis and for generating insights that support various strategic initiatives;
- Supporting other teams with modelling, analysis and automation;
- Producing high quality technical documentation;
- Identifying and streamlining inefficient processes;
- Testing and deploying updates to the models.

**Skills Knowledge and Expertise**:

- At least 2 years' experience in relevant domain.
- Experience in Python is required;
- Experience in R, SQL is desirable;
- Experience in modelling, forecasting and analysis of complex real life systems;
- Strong attention to detail and a passion for quality;
- Exceptional problem-solving skills, creativity and curiosity;
- Highly flexible when dealing with requests from stakeholders;
- The ability to convey complex technical concepts to those with little or no technical background in a meaningful, relevant and engaging matter;
- Good team worker;
- Able to seize initiative and be pro-active;
- Commitment to the values and objectives of the LCCC;
- Working knowledge of machine learning tools and statistical techniques is desirable;
- Working knowledge of Object Oriented Programming is desirable;
- Understanding of the electricity market is desirable.

**About Low Carbon Contracts Company**:
The Low Carbon Contracts Company (LCCC) is an operationally independent, not-for-profit private company wholly owned by the Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS). The company carries out two key roles that are central to the delivery of the Government’s objective to “ensure the UK has a reliable, low cost and clean energy system”:

- Counterparty to Contracts for Difference (CfDs), responsible for managing agreements with low carbon electricity generators under the CfD scheme, forecasting and collecting the Supplier Obligation Levy that funds CfD payments, and settling and clearing the CfDs
- Capacity Market Settlement Body, responsible for managing all financial transactions and associated assurances under the Capacity Market scheme, such as: credit cover; meter assurance; penalties; and payments to capacity providers. LCCC delivers these functions on behalf of its sister company, the Electricity Settlements Company Ltd (ESC)
