**Zenith People are working with our client who are a leading Manufacturer and have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Indirect Buyer with a Manufacturing Background to join them on a permanent basis.**

**Outline and Responsibilities**:

- Lead negotiations, supplier selection & align functional requirements for CAPEX Giga1 purchase requirements ensuring Total Acquisition Cost model, supporting Indirect Purchase Manager & buyers to achieve budget targets
- Have good Technical knowledge and understanding for equipment CAPEX process to deploy contractual commitments to local and global suppliers considering all regulatory requirements.
- Take ownership and responsibility to deliver aggressive cost targets to achieve equipment budgets (e.g. Process equipment, QA Lab, IT systems) by selecting right supply partnerships in co-ordination with key functions.
- Support and lead RFQ management on Direct materials
- Lead strategic proactive tenders (RFI/RFQ), negotiations, supplier selections for Direct suppliers (current/new) when required to support Senior Purchase Manager and Direct Buyer on commercial contracting specifically focused on localisation with UK andEU suppliers for material sourcing.
- Research and evaluate areas of opportunity and reduce costs where possible with current supply base
- Develop ideas and strategies to improve operational efficiency, add value, aid business performance, and work towards a strategy of continuous improvement.

Note: experience in either direct or indirect purchase will support this role, as short-term will be to support CAPEX buying with opportunity to switch to direct buying depending on future projects.

**Background and Experience Required**:

- Proven purchasing experience, preferably within a Manufacturing Environment
- Strong interpersonal skills with a vision for success, the ability to take responsibility and strong negotiation experience, specifically on CAPEX buying.
- Excellent communication skills are crucial to this role, as is the ability to build relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Effective analytical skills to evaluate trends and deliver proactive solutions
- Commercially and operationally astute who is financially aware.
- A strong understanding of purchasing best practice within the supply chain with Proven track record of achieving targets in a competitive fast paced industry.
- Strong leader to influence, be able to work to tight deadlines, have a good sense of priority and can demonstrate strong previous negotiation experiences.
- You should possess strong industrial awareness by investigating new supply markets to assess existing and new supplier capabilities to further strength cost reductions and supply rationalization, including Equipment CAPEX market knowledge.
- You must hold a full driving licence.

**Additional**:

- Membership of Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) is essential to this role.
- Some degree of travel may be required.
- Degree qualification desirable.
- Strong leadership and negotiation skills essential.
