The post holder is a key member of staff providing important administrative and technical support to the Eye Research Group Oxford (ERGO) for all research projects, with expectation to liaise with R&D, Ethics & Clinical Research Network teams, the post holder will mostly be required to work autonomously only referring to ERGO Management and R&D Co-ordinators as necessary.
- Maintaining the departmental research study data, collecting accurate data for specific portfolio studies on the Central Portfolio Management System on which is based £millions of research funding and collating departmental study recruitment for the Trust R&D records for time and target.
- Liaise with representatives of external Pharmaceutical Companies and other bodies in the setting up of complex Research & Development activities. Keeping informed with developments in the Clinical Research Network (CRN) to enable service changes for the delivery of research.
- To train and supervise the Junior Research Administrator in the day-to-day administrative management of current clinical trials and organisation of the Clinical Trials Department. This will include maintaining study files (Trial Master Files for example), documentation, routine photocopying, booking patient appointments, sourcing and filing medical records.
- Have a competent understanding of contracts and finance for clinical trials.

The Eye Research Group Oxford has become an established clinical trials unit since 2010 with a multidisciplinary team supporting the clinical research driven by some of the leading ophthalmologists in the U.K. Projects include the investigating of ground-breaking new treatments, surgical techniques and devices for eye disease.
